“I can tell you that God is alive because I talked to him this morning.” ~ Billy Graham
the life of Cliff and Gina and our two cherished chihuahuas in Memphis--mostly happy, occasionally boring, but always life. I'm a Christian and very open-minded. It is not always a dichotomy. *wink*
This is my online diary open to anyone who cares to read it. Thank you for visiting my blog. I love comments.

Do you have “grandmother groups” in the United States? There are millions of older women in Africa now who, having buried their children who died of AIDS, are raising their grandchildren. Here’s a link to the Grandmothers Campaign: http://www.grandmotherscampaign.org/ . It mobilizes groups of “grandmothers and grandothers” across Canada to reach out to their African peers. It got off the ground by Stephen Lewis. Good for you for hanging out the Red Ribbon.
I nearly did a post on this. Good on you then! AIDs may have somewhat diminished in the USA but is still rampant other places.
I was just telling my husband that living here in the US makes one forget that there are people dying of AIDS in other places. When I lived in Kenya, I knew people who had AIDS, I saw people dying, went to funerals. My grandmother raised three grandkids (my first cousins) because both their parents died of AIDS. It was very very painful to watch their mom and then the last child die. I did not mean to comment a sad story but I wanted to Thank you for posting the Red Ribbon.
