Even before Cliff and I married, I started collecting watermelon stuff for our kitchen. Most I bought before we married but a lot of it was given to me by my Mom, brother, friends and relatives . I don’t know my original reason for starting to collect watermelons except I love the colors. This is part of our kitchen stuff.

^ Our watermelon valance Cliff and I made. He took it down and I washed it recently but didn’t iron it before he put it back up *she says embarrassed*.

^ My watermelon sugar canister. We got this at Garden Ridge.

^ A watermelon plaque on the wall.

^ A set of pictures I ordered in a magazine years before we married. *they need dusting she said embarrassed again*

^ Stuff on top of the cabinets. This plate came from Cracker Barrel.

^ A little country style thing holding pot holders and an oven mitt. The pot holder set I got at my wedding shower…the shelf thing, I don’t remember.

^ Now for some of my favorites. My Mom got me these salt and pepper shakers at Cracker Barrel.

^ Sugar and creamer set…bought at the same place. I also have a cookie jar in this set.

I seem to like to take pictures of things on top of our washing machine….watermelon stuff, chihuahuas?? :D

^ This is one of my very favorite pieces. This is a little teapot my Mom gave me. The picture doesn’t do it justice. It is so pretty in real life.

^ This is not a watermelon plate but I saw it at Garden Ridge and loved it.

We have a lot more watermelon things like place mats, plates and kitchen towels, etc. Two of our friends even made us an adorable watermelon wreath. Maybe I’ll post more pictures later. ;)

I liked chicken items for the longest time. Now I like anything with marroon and green in it. Growing up everything in my parent’s house (which is now mine) was blue, blue, blue. I have no blue. I still have my eye on a set of chicken canisters. Soon!

You are now going to get more watermelon-themed gifts from your friends and relatives than you will know what to do with. (Shannon, you’ll be getting teddy bears and cows.) ;-)

Gina, I just love your watermelon collection! Now I’m getting hungry.

I used to collect anything about gardening, but don’t anymore.

Stop by my blog, I have something for you.

I started collecting sunflowers-I always wanted a sunflower kitchen…but now I have lighthouses everywhere-with some sunflowers here and there! I love all of your watermelons! I took pics today of my road trip to the “in-laws”-lol. But the pic uploader is screwy again!

That is such a fun collection, Gina. That pot holder rack gave me an idea too. I have a little shelf with pegs that I never found a good home for since we moved (several years). It is now going to go in my kitchen and hold my potholders and a tiny salt and pepper collection that my mother-in-law started for me. :-) Thanks!

My sister just moved & had her kitchen decorated in watermelon.
Including a cute set of canisters with wooden spoons on the side.
She had several pieces. I am selling them to help her make some
money. If you are interested in seeing any of the items please
email me at ksrichardson@juno.com
Thanks
