Spaghetti Salad
Ingredients
- 1 pound spaghetti, broken into pieces
- 1/2 cup chopped celery
- 1 large onion, diced
- 1 green bell pepper, chopped
- 1 (2 ounce) can sliced black olives, drained (optional)
- 2 tomatoes, chopped
- 1 (16 ounce) bottle Italian-style salad dressing (I use Kraft Zesty Italian)
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
DIRECTIONS
- Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Add pasta and cook for 8 to 10 minutes or until al dente; drain.
- In a large bowl combine spaghetti, celery, onion, bell pepper, olives, tomatoes, salad dressing and Parmesan (if desired). Toss to coat. Chill until serving.
I wanted to put a nice cooked pasta dish like other people probably will but I make this salad once a week all summer long so I thought I would go ahead and put this. I absolutely LOVE this and could eat it every day but I don’t need that much pasta. Cliff loves it too. Most of the time I don’t put black olives or Parmesan. I’m not a huge fan of black olives although they are growing on me. I usually just make 1/2 this recipe.

Oooohhhhh~I absolutely love this! I am with you on the olives-I like black olives plain but not much of a fan when they are mixed in with other things-but they are growing on me too. Most definitely not a fan of green olives any which way-lol! Thanks for sharing and for visiting mine!

My friend’s sister made this when I was visiting them last week-but she used tri colored pasta instead of spagetti, used more types of veggies and I don’t think there was any cheese. I wanted to make this for my family but forgot to ask her how she made it, now I know!
Good!! I don’t usually put cheese either. Sometimes I put in cauliflower, broccoli, etc, etc.
This sounds really yummy! I’m glad you decided to post it!
Looks yummy and great for the summer months.
Once a week, all summer long! It’s got to be really good. Thanks for letting all of us know about this winner, Gina.
This sounds like a great summer dish! We may have it for dinner tonight.
This looks delish! Great for a BBQ or picnic.
