I am beginning to learn that it is the sweet, simple things of life which are the real ones after all.

-Laura Ingalls Wilder

Today I am thankful for the simple pleasures in life such as:

  • sitting on the front porch with my Mom on Sunday afternoons and talking about everything and anything
  • looking out the den window and watching the leaves on the trees dance in the wind
  • watching the bluebirds at the feeder outside my Mothers-in-law assisted living residence dining room and marveling at their beauty and sweetness
  • sitting with Cliff in our swing in the side yard and talking about plans and dreams
  • watching our chihuahuas with their irresistible, cute ways
  • thinking about all the ways my Lord has blessed me and praising Him for them
  • thinking about the many trials I’ve had and thanking my Lord for them because hopefully they make me a little more like Him and a little more ready for my eternal home

Gina,

There is nothing like nature and animals to be thankful for. That is why God put them on this earth. I enjoy all of nature so much.

Great post.

Thanks for visiting today. I love the quote by Laura Ingalls Wilder (my all time favorite program). I love the simpler, slow, times…sounds like you do too.

Your post made me think of a peaceful life. I think it’s wonderful that you are able to enjoy some much from such simple blessings, things that others tend to overlook.

Thank you for your comment on my blog post.

I have Osteoarthritis in my hips, as well as Rheumatoid arthritis (that effects me all over). And spondylorathropy (effecting my hips and lower back.). I’ve had aches and pains all my life, but the limited mobility has been something only effecting me in my 20’s. I can’t imagine having dealt with this as a child too.

Thank you for commenting on my post, I’m glad you enjoyed reading it. I enjoyed reading yours as well.

Praise be to God.

Crystal

Thank You Gina…for the Scripture..and I’m casting! But ya know those many thankful simple things are what makes life worth living! Like
those sweetie chihuahuas. When we are thankful for the little things,
we are given abundantly…I’m glad you found so many and Laura Wilder’s quote to start you off! Keep enjoying and be blessed!

It’s so neat that you get to spend time with your mom every Sunday and that you are thankful for it. My mom and I are 3000 miles apart.

I find your thankful list reassuring…and comforting. These are all simple things yet important in a lot of ways. Bonding time with our mothers (or parents) are always great times.
